The Winter Solstice Model Exhibition, held at Horizon Academy, Sinnar, on December 21, 2024, was an exceptional event that not only celebrated the natural phenomenon of the winter solstice but also provided an opportunity for students to showcase their creativity, scientific knowledge, and model-making skills.
The Winter Solstice, which marks the shortest day and longest night of the year, was the central theme of the exhibition. Students from different grades were invited to create models that illustrated various concepts related to the solstice, including Earth’s tilt, the changing of seasons, and the impact of the solstice on weather patterns and ecosystems. Hon. Principal Mr. Nithish Nair praised the students for their dedication and the high quality of the exhibits. School SMC members B.G.Thorat sir and Tatane madam appreciated the students for their creative model. Teachers expressed their appreciation for the interdisciplinary approach, where students applied both scientific knowledge and artistic creativity.
It was an excellent platform for students to deepen their understanding of the solstice and related phenomena, while also encouraging teamwork, problem-solving, and presentation skills. The event not only enhanced the academic experience of the students but also provided the local community with an engaging, informative, and thought-provoking exhibition.
