Independence Day and Krishna Janmashtami Celebrated Devoutly at Horizon Academy, Sinnar.
Maratha Vidya Prasarak Samaj’s Horizon Academy celebrated Independence Day and Shri Krishna Janmashtami with great enthusiasm and devotion. The combined celebration beautifully reflected a harmonious blend of patriotism, cultural heritage, and vibrant student participation.
The occasion was graced by the school’s Principal Mr. Nithish Nair, School Education Committee members B. G. Thorat, J. B. Pagar, S. R. Pagar, S. B. Gadhe, Dnyaneshwar Kokate, Vikas Ugale, Deepak Hande, Sandhya Tatane,Mr. Shashidharan Nair, Mrs. Anita Nair and Vice President of the Parent-Teacher Executive Committee Mrs. Sheetal Kalantri, along with a large gathering of parents.
The programme commenced with the flag hoisting by the dignitaries, followed by spirited drills performed by students to the tunes of patriotic songs. All participants took a pledge for de-addiction, reaffirming their commitment to building a healthier and stronger nation.
In honour of Shri Krishna Janmashtami, students presented graceful dance performances depicting episodes from the life of Radha and Krishna. Teacher Savita Dange delivered an inspiring address on the significance of Independence Day, while Teacher Madhuri Karpe explained the cultural and spiritual importance of Krishna Janmashtami.
Grade 4 students sang the soulful patriotic song “Hum Honge Kamyab,” while Ishan Patil, Yukta Bhosale, Avneet Kangane, and Avani Pachore expressed their patriotic fervour through heartfelt speeches. Trisha Petkar and Arnav Balve captivated the audience with a traditional Gavlan (devotional song), creating a serene and devotional atmosphere.
A powerful dance tribute was presented in honour of the soldiers martyred in the Pahalgam attack, evoking deep respect and emotion among the audience. The traditional Dahi Handi festival was then celebrated with great zeal and excitement.
Adding to the spirit of the day, a felicitation ceremony was organised in association with LIC Zonal Manager Club’s Vikas Appa Ugale, honouring meritorious students and achievers in sports.
Addressing the gathering, School Education Committee member B. G. Thorat spoke about the historical importance and relevance of Independence Day. Principal Mr. Nithish Nair extended warm greetings on the occasion, appreciating the collective efforts of teachers, non-teaching staff, students, and parents in making the event a grand success.
The programme concluded on a high note with the resonant singing of Vande Mataram, leaving everyone inspired and united in the spirit of patriotism and devotion.
